Weddings are a big event especially for the bride who has most likely been planning their wedding day since they were nine or ten years old. the big event comes with a lot of effort and time put into the process of making the great for the couple to be which is why there are so many wedding caters around that promise you everything will go without a hitch. As well as the long and sometimes difficult planning there is also the expense to think about which is something that can cost more than you would have ever guessed. A nice wedding in a church still costs around $25,000 and can be more depending on how lavish you want the ceremony to be.

The engagement ring usually cost a big part of this price of the wedding plans which is usually meant to be one third of a year’s wage of the man, traditionally. There are some plus sides to the whole affair which are the parts that you can do for yourself. Some of the smaller parts of the wedding planning like the planning itself can be done by you and your family for free. This is a big expense if you choose to have a wedding planner which in reality only does what you tell them to do anyway.

DIY wedding invitations are a great way to keep costs down in a hope not to break the budget. You can make them very simply using a computer or doing them completely by hand. Some of the ideas are to use recyclable paper and write in colorful penmanship on the pages so that the invitations look completely store bought unless of course you are trying not to have them look that way.

Not for the fact that DIY wedding invitations will save the wedding bill by a proportionate amount, celebrities around the world are making their own wedding invitations because they give such a personal touch to a very special event. Personal invitations mean so much more to the people that receive them and also to the people sending them out. DIY wedding invitations do not take a lot of work and can be easily accomplished with some imagination and good use of available materials. If you can’t find what you are looking for at home around the house then you can pop off to the local store and buy some supplies.

Colored cardboard and other color papers plus envelopes are required. You can make your own envelopes too out of the same colored paper you use to make the invitations. This will of course require some more paper. Stencils are a good idea which can be made with a computer. Many of the designs and printings can be done on a home computer too so there is no need to go to big expenses just use what knowledge you have to make your computer graphics and writing. Soon everything will start to come together and you will have your card, the front cover, the written invitation wording and the envelope sorted. Then all you have to do is post them out and wait for your reply to the wedding and compliments on the invitations.
